All Calgary Public Library locations, including book drops, are temporarily closed until further notice as of March 16 at 12:01 am to help limit the spread of COVID-19.

Babies and Toddlers

The Library supports families as they help their children learn and grow.

Healthy development in early childhood sets the course for a child’s future, leads to kindergarten readiness, and prepares children for lifelong learning and success.

Babies, toddlers, and families can learn through play at Early Learning Centres located at 12 libraries. The Library also offers many free early literacy programs, designed to fit each stage of a child’s early development, as well as an extensive collection of books for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers.

Early Learning Centres are vibrant and interactive spaces.

At 12 libraries across the city, there are 13 Early Learning Centres that offer opportunities for kids ages zero to five to learn, play, and take part in activities and games. Each Early Learning Centre, built around a distinct concept, is designed to be flexible, open-ended, and fun.
